Are there additional services or support that you would like UITS to offer?

UITS is supposed to be a SERVICE entity but, as is often the case for these orgs, it fancy's itself a COMPLIANCE entity. As long as UITS spends so much time and resources on this, they will do a poor job of their primary mission.

I am thankful for you all.

I am very satisfied with the services provided by UITS. While there are always areas that can be improved, I believe that UITS maximizes their effectiveness with the budget limitations they work within. The people that I have interacted with at UITS are always helpful and friendly. Most importantly, if there is an issue UITS can be depended upon to find a quick and effective solution.

I feel that many of the rooms at the Columbus Learning Center are poorly designed learning environments. Somehow the technology just does not interact well with the spaces. Quality of the projectors is not clear, technology set-up is in the way of learning (obscuring whiteboards, for example), and a number of other issues in terms of instructor/student/technology interaction.

Are there additional services or support that you would like UITS to offer?

Wireless services at IUPUC are barely existent. Please upgrade or add more coverage. Coverage is horrible and uses my DATA to use the internet for my school work.

Off-campus assistance in setting up virtual private network.

Box and Sharepoint are not good alternatives for the project sites that must be transferred out of Oncourse. Would like to use Canvas for project sites but word is that's not allowed.

Service at IUPUC is excellent!

When I use the IU Secure wireless network system, it seems to have a signal that "comes and goes" frequently within the CC building or outside in the patio area.

Would like to see more communication about local campus issues, i.e. recently most desktop machines on campus were renamed but there was no campus-wide notification about the need for individual users to update the name for VPN/remote desktop access if users connect from home or elsewhere.

Are there additional services or support that you would like UITS to offer?

An optional class just for IT purposes at orientation or just after the beginning of the semester would be so helpful! The first few weeks are such a new experience for many of us,and there is so much you offer through IT THATS it's hard to grasp it all. I'm in week 12 of my college experience, and I'm still learning about all there is available to us students. A lesson in oncourse would be helpful too! A class much longer than the session at new student orientation is needed (IUPUC). It was rushed, and not helpful as we were not familiar with the systems yet at all.

Canvas was a bit hard to navigate at first and only works with certain browsers. This makes it a bit hard when trying to watch a video message or record a message.

IT members do not all seem to be experts with computers. However, they should be since they are IT.

Login process on campus computers takes 5 minutes on some machines. Please look into this. There is also limited access to the wireless network. With ebooks being required for many class now, it is important to have access to Internet in all classrooms. Also the projectors in many rooms do not display large enough or it is not centered on the screen or out of focus. Please take a look. Considering the large network maintained on campus, I think you do a good job.

Printers never seem to work properly in the library, the scanner will not scan my card and I always have to ask someone working to print the items I need.

the technology here is good, I like how I can access my homework and available resources at home on my kindle or laptop. The canvas that I use for math is still new to me but it seems like a good way to have math homework without the mymath labs

A comment box at the end of each section of questions would be helpful. It would be easier to remember comments. I'm afraid my responses probably aren't very helpful. I live WAY off campus so am not familiar with a lot of the facilities/services that you asked about. I am also NOT computer literate. I don't even know what ""cloud"" is let alone how to use it. I don't use social media & only very recently started texting though it's just like typing except on the phone instead of a typewriter. I have managed to figure Oncourse out enough to do what I need to do. What prompted this survey was a contact with IT regarding my inability to access IU's library resources for an assignment in one of my nursing classes. The fella I spoke with was very polite but not very helpful. He told me the school's computer systems weren't communicating with Explorer, that they didn't know why or when/if it would be fixed. He talked me through installing Google Chrome on my computer & told me to call back if that didn't work. Well it didn't work. Rather than call back I contacted my professor who gave me some other sites to check & I found a research article there. I was referred to IT by the IU Nursing Librarian who gave me a non-working contact phone number. I finally got back on IUPUC's site & found a contact number there. I'm not unhappy with any services mainly because I don't know how to use most of what you're asking about so I don't know what I'm missing. A little more assistance with library access would have been nice but I got around that.

Printing stations in the CC building, more computers in CC building, a suggestion box or an easy way to notify IT if issues that are non urgent

It would be nice to add printers and copiers around campus.

I appreciate all the help I have received over the years. It is difficult to complete tasks at times when you are not tech savvy. So, that's when I relay on the tech miracle workers to save the day.

I have not had to use the UITS as a student here so far, but I hear good things from other students who have.

I really like using One.IU on my mobile devices but I wish it was more user-friendly. I can't save my user login and it takes several attempts to get logged in.
